Cowra Celebrates World Peace Day with Ringing of Peace Bell and Youth Forum

Cowra is marking World Peace Day today, with the ringing of Australia’s Peace Bell calling for calm amid wars overseas.

The town has a history of keeping Japanese prisoners of war during World War II, and those who died in the camp have been remembered each year.

Councillor Ben Fry has been elected by Councillors five votes to four, with Sophie Wright named as Deputy by the same margin.
