The proposed Go-Kart track at Bathurst’s iconic Mount Panorama has continued to divide the community, with renewed calls to change the location.
The proposed 1km track, located at the southern end of McPhillamy park, has been met with vocal opposition from recreation users and members of the indigenous Wiradjuri community.
Councillor Monica Morse says many people aren’t aware of the amount of building that is a part of the go-kart complex.
However, Councillor Warren Aubin believes the international standard go-kart track will be an economic boom to the city.
After years of modified DA’s, Bathurst regional council has now included the project in its next budget, seeking over 4 million dollars in full funding from the state and federal governments.
