A former member of Britain’s Royal Airforce, Dr Baldam experienced firsthand the fear and uncertainty of the most recent Irish independence movement.
Being a member nation of the Commonwealth and a stable global middle-power nation, Australia’s soil is historically a haven from war and famine caused my international conflicts.
Taken by so many of us for granted, this peaceful land was the ultimate refuge for a terrorised man and his family.
