Australia’s beloved Socceroos are fast approaching judgment day.
They head into next week’s FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Japan in Sydney knowing only a win will do to keep hopes of securing an automatic spot at the world’s biggest sporting event alive.
The Socceroos will need to leapfrog either Japan or Saudi Arabia – their final two opponents – in order to book their place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Ajdin Hrustic, who scored against Japan last time these two nations met, sees it as a ‘do or die’ encounter.
But he and his teammates are relishing the occasion and can’t wait to give it their all at a packed Stadium Australia.
The match kicks off at 8:10pm (AEDT) next Thursday night and will be broadcast live and free across the nation on Channel 10.
