The first stage of the environmental assessment and design of the Great Western Highway upgrade has been awarded to MRB Technical Services.

According to the NSW Roads and Transport Minister’s release, Paul Toole, acting Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Roads and Transport said,

“Transport for NSW will work closely with the contractor to refine the design based on community feedback from public consultation held in July and August, with the aim of progressing the upgrade to formal environmental assessment in mid-2021.”

The initial tender for the major contract had 23 shortlisted candidates to whom 3 were very strong applicants however, none were local.
