NSW face masks: Premier, health officials urge their use

By Zoe Brown

After a period of relaxed restrictions, health officials and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian are now urging NSW residents to be extra cautious when leaving their homes. In an effort to contain COVID-19, Berejiklian is “highly recommending” that the wearing of a face mask be adopted when in public settings and in instances where social distancing cannot be sustained. This recommendation comes following the confirmation of 12 new COVID cases within a 24hr period in NSW. Action is being taken to ensure that the state does not encounter a second wave of outbreaks as numbered as Victoria.
