Recently, the Family Hotel in Bathurst has upgraded its facilities. Two separate pokie rooms have been implemented within the pub. The NSW Office of Liquor and Gaming approved the Family Hotel to extend the gaming area within the venue. The decision was granted earlier this month. The Family Hotel has increased its ability to maintain its title of Bathurst’s number one pub for gaming machine net profit.
Patron to the Family Hotel, Jack, said he his biggest win was $7000 which he gambled straight back through. He said his gambling depends on his financial situation, where if he has no money, he can’t gamble.
Zach, a hospitality worker, says he is used to seeing the anguish the machines cause however, he still plays socially himself.
